‘Spring in Regina Elena’: furnishings, equipment and systems, the retirement home gets a new look

PRESS RELEASE

The project co-financed by the special company and the Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara Foundation is called ‘Primavera a Regina Elena’ and promises to be only the first step in a broader redevelopment of the structure strongly supported by the municipal administration and by the retirement home itself . The project has a total cost of just over 156 thousand euros of which 50 thousand are co-financed by the CrC Foundation and involves reorganizing the living environments of building B of the RSA with furnishings, furnishing accessories and equipment to improve the safety of guests and operators and make the terraces usable.

In detail, in this first phase it is envisaged to purchase new furnishings for the accommodation and outdoor spaces involving 38 beds divided over two floors. Electric beds, furnishings and accessories suitable to ensure the new functionality and ergonomics of the guests’ living environments have been identified. The furnishings, which meet the highest standards of functionality, ergonomics and safety, ensure a low environmental impact and are made with durable finishes. The development of the project, in addition to ensuring better guest comfort, will allow relatives, friends and volunteers to participate more fully in the life of the facility. The facilitated access to the rooms and terraces will also allow all the living environments to be used in a new way, encouraging the development of projects and new activities such as the care of plants and flowers as well as restoring light to the structure and accommodation. Prior to the supply of furnishings, the electrical and call systems of each room will be adapted.

“We are happy and satisfied to be here today to present this important project – underlines the mayor Serena Arrighi -. First of all, I would like to thank and congratulate the president Fabrizio Pucci, the Regina Elena board of directors and the director Antonio Unknown for the work carried out in recent months and, last but not least, to the CrC Foundation which once again responded presently to the request of an intervention in favor of Carrara and the people of Carrara. For us, these works represent only the beginning of a broader renovation project of the entire structure that we will carry out in recent years”.

“We made the commitment – comments Fabrizio Pucci, president of the special company – to reopen and redevelop the Regina Elena and now little by little we are able to see the first fruits. The financing of the CrC Foundation is not only very important for the economic value, but also as recognition of a bond between our rsa and the community that we intend to continue to strengthen and grow, for this reason we are grateful for this co-financing which pushes us to continue in the our work.”

“We have strongly supported the project to modernize and improve the Regina Elena RSA, an excellence of our territory, because we must all be aware of how our society is changing – concludes the president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara Foundation Enrico Isoppi -. The average age of the population continues to rise and we have a duty to create the conditions to make life better and easier for the elderly, who need care and attention. The civility of a community is also measured through the degree of attention it is capable of giving to the most fragile subjects. It is an important first step and we are ready to evaluate further interventions in the future in this direction”.
