Presented this morning at Coffee from the Witches the second edition of International choreographic competition ‘Witches’ Scrub’ created by Terre Magiche Foundation which deals, among other things, with making known and studying the places, the stories and the legends from the Witches Of Benevento he was born in Sannio and from Company Of Ballet Of Benevento.

The appointment remains scheduled from 5 to 7 July next along all the Corso Garibaldi. Three days, therefore, dedicated to dance and witches, three workshops to Santa Sofia square with live music at Piazza Roma and in via Traiano. Three hundred dancers busy and Saturday evening at 21 the parade is expected from Rock of the Rectors to Piazza Roma. A highly qualified jury that included the Director of the San Carlo Ballet Clotilde Vayer And Raffaele Paganini, former principal dancer of the Rome Opera.

Godmother of the event – ​​directed by Linda Ocone – will be Erminia Gambarelli, Director of the Cairo Opera House, while the jury will be composed of: – Luciano Maria Cannito, President; Choreographer and director, as well as President of the National Theater of the City of Naples – Joseph Ilario, Director of the ‘Nicola Sala’ Conservatory of Benevento – Hassan Eltabie, Principal Dancer of the Cairo Opera House – Amilcare Jose’ Lombardi, designer, Maison Lombardi Haute Couture. The competition aims to promote choreographic projects that explore the figure of Janara, interpreting the anthropological and cultural complexity of the phenomenon.

The president of the Province Nino Lombardi wanted to highlight the importance that the event assumes and underlined: “The synergy of the territory is necessary for the great cultural, environmental, food and wine heritage that the entire Sannio has available. We represent an excellence that lives on in our traditions.”

The president of the Carmine Foundation Ricciardi has explained: “We want to make the area attractive and we work on originality. After the objective was to plant some roots, now we want to see some seeds”.

Carmen Castiello from the Company Of Ballet Of Benevento has explained: “We have had a doubling of requests from dancers from all over Campania. It’s a unique competition that doesn’t want to glorify the witch, but to redeem the female figure.” On the laboratories the Castiello is convinced of the importance of its impact on civil conscience and on the territory: “They will enhance the beauty of our city in Piazza Santa Sofia with live music in Piazza Roma and in Vai Traiano to enhance the figure of the witch”.
