It was officially inaugurated last week “Narrative Salon”within the structure of Obstetrics of theAlessandria University Hospital Company directed by Davide Dealberti.
In the new space, patients can discuss and find a book in which to tell their experiences of pregnancy and hospitalizationwithin the project “Textures of care and trust: Narrative Medicine in clinical practice” which the Structure team carried out as a Medical Humanities activity, in collaboration with the Dedicated Study Centerdirected by Mariateresa Dacquino and pertaining to DAIRI (Integrated Activities Research and Innovation Department).
The journey began in 2022 with the application of the experiential narrative laboratory method and, at the end of the course, saw a total of 40 Obstetrics and Gynecology professionals working on two words: trust and welcome, expressed in the new lounge and in the atrium .
The idea of convert a room in the ward into a narrative lounge involved many people, all present at the inauguration, including The artists Ornella Balbo and Piero Rocchi. The latter created a painting commissioned by the Tavaroni–Masi family in memory of his daughter. In the lobbyhowever, is present the work of the artist Faé Djéraba “Give me a thought”.
