The event, which took place on 21 and 22 June, focused on the theme “Listening, communication and languages: Evangelizing in the Sicilian context”.

The first day was dedicated to moments of sharing and discussion with priests from the various Sicilian dioceses, followed by in-depth and reflection sessions with the catechetical teams. On June 22, the great gathering brought together catechists from the 18 dioceses of the island, who participated in thematic workshops, conferences and moments of prayer and reflection.

Among the personalities present, Msgr. Antonino Raspanti, mons. Mario Russotto and Msgr. Rosario Gisana underlined the importance of catechists as witnesses and announcers of the Gospel in their communities. Monsignor Gisana highlighted the importance of communication and learning new languages in the context of the Christian faith, underlining how every person’s life is a living prophecy and a message of salvation.

At the end of the day, Don Carmelo Sciuto thanked all the participants, speakers and catechists for their passion and dedication, urging them to return to their dioceses with renewed enthusiasm to continue their mission of evangelization. He encouraged the Church to be open and innovative, constantly seeking new ways and tools to announce the Gospel.
