Filming Italy Sardinia Festival, movie stars arrive on the island

The seventh edition of the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival returns to Sardinia, the great event conceived and directed by Tiziana Rocca, which will be held from 20 to 23 June between Cagliari and the Forte Village of Pula with an important preview at the Notorious Cinemas multiplex in Piazza L Unione Sarda on the evening of Wednesday 19 June.

Four days with a monstrous presence of over sixty international and Italian stars and talents.

In this edition, dedicated to Sandra Milo, many guests will be present who will dialogue in masterclasses with students from the schools and universities of the Academy Cinema created in collaboration with the University of Cagliari and the coordination of the teacher Massimo Arcangeli: from Brie Larson to Colman Domingo, from Bo Derek to Rosario Dawson, Matt Bomer and Patricia Arquette, and then again Silvio Orlando, Barbara Ronchi, Neri Marcorè, Claudio Bisio, Caterina and Corrado Guzzanti, Massimo Ghini.

Honorary president of the Festival will be the Oscar-winning American actress Brie Larson while the jury president of the short film section will be Paz Vega. The godmother of this new edition of the Festival, already announced in Cannes, will be Ambra Angiolini. The roles of ambassador and ambassador of the Festival are entrusted to Harvey Keitel and Claudia Gerini, a loyal presence at the event since the first edition.

Also expected is the American actress and singer Bella Thorne who will be awarded the Filming Italy International Award for her directorial debut with the short “Paint Her Red”. Over seventy titles have been selected, including international and Italian films, documentaries, short films and TV series. Among these “Cult Killer” thriller with Antonio Banderas, Max Nardari’s comedy “Amici per caso” and the Japanese animated film by Netflix “The Imaginary”. And Katie Holmes will present her latest film as director “Rare Objects”.

During the gala evenings, fans and the public will be able to admire Colman Domingo, Ioan Gruffudd, Carla Gugino, Dolph Lundgren, Matt Bomer, Patricia Arquette, Abel Ferrara, Simon Baker, Gabriel LaBelle, Marion Bailey, Iain Glen, John David Washington , Liam Cunningham , Nell Tiger Free, Alexandra Daddario and Gemma Artenton.

For Italy there will be Silvio Orlando, Barbara Ronchi, who will present her latest film “Io e il Secco”, Neri Marcorè, Caterina Guzzanti, Claudio Bisio, Massimo Ghini, Corrado Guzzanti, Antonio Catania. And again Giampaolo Morelli, with his latest film as director, “Falla girare 2 – Offline”, Pio & Amedeo, Ludovica Martino, Lillo, Anna Safroncik, Edoardo Pesce who will present “El Paraìso”, Aurora Giovinazzo, Salvatore Esposito, Filippo Contri and Filippo Tirabassi, Giacomo Giorgio, Margherita Mazzucco, Paola Minaccioni, Francesco Centorame, Diana Del Bufalo, Fabio Troiano, the very young Leonardo Ghini and Serena de Ferrari.

As a preview, for the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival, Giulio Beranek will present “Gerri”, the Cattleya series which will be broadcast on Rai1 next autumn. Among the stars of Hollywood and Cinecittà also the Cagliari singer-songwriter Veronica Perseo who will sing at the opening of the second evening on June 21st proposing her latest hits.
