It is a capital of Calabria, also calledThe City Between Two Seas it’s a pearl nestled between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ionian Sea whose origins, legendary references trace it back to an ancient Greek colony founded by the hero Ulysses. Catanzaro is also the place from which the name Italy derives, in fact the Greeks called the term Italói the population of the Vituli or Viteli, who lived near its current territorial position and, as a simulacrum, worshiped a calf, vitus in Latin. The settlement of the population occurred in the 9th century AD. C. as a fortified village that was built by the Byzantines to defend the Calabrian territory from the continuous incursions of other peoples. In the historic center there are numerous historic buildings, monumental villas and 17 churches from various eras and different architectural styles. The logo of this 16th Edition was designed on cardboard by Margherita Giacchetti, a student of the Convitto Nazionale “Vittorio Emanuele II” in Rome, which was subsequently reworked in digital graphics by ITIS “Scalfaro”.
