CASALMAGGIORE – All that’s missing is the official announcement and that won’t be long in coming. Vbc Casalmaggiore will take part in the next A2 series championship thanks to the acquisition of the title from Focol Legnano which, in turn, took the B1 title from Catania to remain in the national championships.
The Via Baslenga association’s race against time seems to have reached the finish line with a photo finish, just in time to submit the registration application by the deadline which expires tomorrow. It is possible that Casalmaggiore does not even make announcements and presents the application directly, leaving the League to publish the applications received which will then be examined by the Lega and Fipav commissions to determine admissions to the championships.
The scenario has therefore materialized according to the wishes of the president’s company. Boselli Botturi who had relationships first with Ostiano, then with Esperia but always had the ambition and the managerial mandate to try until the end to run alone for the Serie A, also thanks to the support of many sponsors who did not abandon Vbc in the aftermath of the transfer of the Cuneo title.
In one fell swoop, then, Casalmaggiore silences rumors about possible pending issues from last season – to acquire titles, 100% of the payments of the members of the previous season are required – and forcefully enters a very competitive A2 series with a team that is, in fact, already set up.
The roster that, secretly, the president Boselli Botturi has been optioning for some time and now intends to concretize, will be entrusted to the hands of Bruno Napolitano, an expert coach who guided Melendugno last year before his dismissal. Under the orders of the Apulian technician there should be two old acquaintances of the pink people like the power plant Federica Stufiformer captain of Vbc, and the setter Giulia Pinceratoboth returning from the disappointment of the playoff lost against Giorgione.
The libero will be another well-known face in Via Baslenga, that is Giorgia Faraonein Casalmaggiore last year, but it is in the opposite role that Vbc would have landed the big hit by signing none other than Ivone Daniela Montano LucumiPerugia’s driving force last year which ended with promotion to A1 achieved at the PalaRadi against Esperia Cremona.
Of course, to better define Casalmaggiore’s ambitions and possibilities, it is necessary to understand the rest of the six, but, for a team that has not been able to make the market so far, the first names are of the highest level and it is safe to bet that the others will not be any less.
