Some swimmers noticed a man with his face in the water, lying and drifting not far from a free beach in Ercolano, who immediately called for help. Unfortunately for the man there was nothing that could be done.
According to a first hypothesis, the man, a 70-year-old pensioner, resident in Ercolano, suffered a sudden illness which proved fatal while he was swimming in the body of water in front of La Favorita.
In the next few hours the Naples Prosecutor’s Office will arrange for an autopsy to clarify the exact circumstances of the death.
