ANCONA – Late yesterday morning, the Flying Squads intervened in the Baraccola area, in Ancona, as the presence of three subjects had been reported. These were tinkering on a road tractorwith the clear intent of remove the fuel from the tank of the means to transfer it, into the tank or into another container of a car parked in the immediate vicinity.
The police, who immediately arrived on the scene, noticed three men in the distance at the end of a road, two near the tractor and another inside the passenger compartment of a car. Without being noticed they caught them in the act. The officers, in fact, found that there was a man on the ground between the two men near the tractor plastic tube of approximately 2.50 cmwith a metal pump “transfer pump” inserted at one end, still dripping with diesel, probably used for transferring the fuel into a 25-litre can, ready to be loaded into the luggage compartment of the car, where other 5 cans full of diesel.
Furthermore, they found that the tractor’s fuel cap was open and smeared with an oily substance. The three subjects, upon initial inspection, were found to be residents of the province, one Italian, but of Moldovan origin, aged 35, with police prejudice against him for crimes against property, the other two of Moldovan citizenship, aged 47 respectively, in regular position in Italy, and 44 years old, with a criminal record against property and the prevention measure of the Oral Warning issued by the Police Commissioner of Ancona in 2018.
The 44-year-old, with a regular car rental contract from a company in Bolzano, reported to the operating agents that shortly before he had met the Italian citizen in a commercial establishment in that area, who had offered him the diesel fuel from his vehicle in exchange for a financial compensation, a proposal he accepted.
The tractor appeared to be rented to a transport company in Rome for which the Italian citizen carried out the task of professional driver with a regular contract.
The vehicles and diesel cans were seized and made available to the judicial authorities. The legal representative of the transport company was informed of the criminal activity, and on the same day, in his place of residence, he filed a formal complaint. In light of what had been ascertained, the three men were referred to the judicial authorities.
