Legnano – The Enna – Legnano cultural exchange continues in the name of Francesco Paolo Neglia. In 2023 it was theCouncilor for Culture Guido Bragato to go to Enna with Laura Fusaro, author of the book on Neglia “Maestro sul podio e nella vita”, on the occasion of the 35th International Competition for pianists and opera singers named after Neglia. This year, in May, it was theEnna councilor Giancarlo Vasco to be hosted in Legnano on the occasion of the Palio. After the music protagonist on the occasion in which the musical high schools of Enna and Busto Arsizio have united, another celebration strengthened the friendship between the two cities. The next appointment, included in the program of the Centenary of Legnano Città, will be the performance at the Tirinnanzi Theater of the winners of the Neglia 2024 competition.
There was also the mayor Lorenzo Radice, invited to the ceremony by his Enna counterpart Maurizio Dipietro, last night, Friday 21 June, in Enna for the naming of the Theater after Francesco Paolo Negliathe musician and composer born in the Sicilian city and who he spent a significant period of his life in Legnano, where he founded the “Verdi” Music High School.
The dedication ceremony saw around 130 musicians from bands, orchestras, schools and music conservatories took turns on stage, the projection of a video mapping of the theater with photos of Neglia and his family and the distribution of the philatelic postmark created for the occasion with which the mayor of Legnano was honored. Present at the dedication were the artistic director of the “Neglia” festival, Corrado Rattoand the composer’s great-grandson Maurizio Neglia Agrò.
