Fabrizio Alessi’s solo show can be visited until tomorrow

TARQUINIA – There is still time until tomorrow to visit Fabrizio Alessi’s personal exhibition set up on the top floor of Palazzo Bruschi with free admission from 10.30am to 12pm and from 5pm to 8pm. Material blues is the theme of the exhibition, the result of an interior search, «a forced solitude in close contact with nature – explains the artist – which has brought out from the canvas a work that is at times painful, at times joyfully psychedelic, stripping and mistreating the works until reaching satisfaction and the satisfaction of the soul”.

“Paintings of pure matter, without the skeleton of the drawing, the result of a subtraction that discolours,” explains Fabrizio, “stories of those who are lost in Istanbul and can no longer be found, or of those who feel empty, a Coca Cola open for days, impossible dirt, a market product”. “Notes taken during a pure mental memory, images photographed by the gaze and stored in memory crumble onto canvases where matter and plaster, tar and acrylics color states of calm restlessness”: and then we move on from the landscapes “that exist, here, behind home”, to others who “live in my memories, rocky peaks where a thousand times the gaze is lost on the horizon to glimpse the perfect wave”, from Santa Maria in Castello to the Hindu temples, from the “roaring of the waves in Balangan” at Punta delle Quaglie, “where my boots arrive on cold winter days”. “Desert lands and peaks above the sea – concludes Fabrizio – my land, my origins that I longed for when I was far away, are populated by imaginary animals, by recognizable abstractions, by words shouted into the wind and then stopped by silence”.
