This year the festival also boasts collaboration with WeShort, a platform dedicated to the most beautiful short films from all over the world. In fact, an absolute novelty of this edition, Visioni Peripherhe, in the evening dedicated to short films, will reward the best short with distribution on the platform.

The 2024 edition was born from the desire to continue the virtuous path undertaken with last summer’s pilot edition, already sponsored by the Municipality of Bitonto, and supported by the economic support of local activities, the collaboration of various city associations and the regional fund of the Galactic project. The theme chosen for this second edition is earth, both as a place to which one feels one belongs and in its most symbolic aspect: wish, I remember And blame. But earth is also the space of a community, innervated by deep and contradictory connections, with which we are called to deal.

«We strongly wanted and pursued this second edition of Peripheral Visions, which will see us talk about the theme of the earth, the different facets of the places we inhabit or pursue, which we will narrate through feature films, theatrical performances, short films and many forms of art and cinema. More than a thousand people crowded in front of our screens last summer. We wanted to amaze them again, improving the offer of our festival, increasing the screenings, expanding the spaces for main and collateral activities, sharing the Festival with large and peculiar partner realities and above all attracting many new national and international guests to Bitonto. From the June 27we will all be at the Cittadella del Bambino, to tell how free and accessible cinema can offer us new Visions” he has declared Nicolò Ventrafridda.
