Digithon, the digital marathon returns to Puglia from 5 to 7 September: this year focus on artificial intelligence

The DigithON 2024 digital “marathon” is back: until June 30th at midnight it will be possible to nominate your startup and try to enter the top 100 digital projects who will compete during the ninth edition of the competition, scheduled from 5 to 7 September at the Vecchie Segherie in Biscegliand, to build the technology sector’s tomorrow.

Boccia: «Startup with AI projects in all sectors»

«For the first time in nine editions we repeat the focus on Artificial Intelligence», explained the creator and founder of DigithON, theeconomist and PD deputy Francesco Bocciain a press conference with the president of Confindustria Bari-Bat, Sergio Fontana. «Startups present artificial intelligence projects in every area of our life, from healthcare to financial-insurance, through agro-industry, e-commerce and logistics. Artificial intelligence is changing our lives, it is changing it for the better, but there are also new risks that need to be assessed and there is a great discussion in Europe”, continued Boccia. «I ask the kids to dare – she added – we are here, the investors are there, the Apulian universities are excellent and the scientific committee is a guarantor of third party standards. Then we hope there will be a strong and united Europe that innovates. If there is one thing we denounce, even with kids, it is that the United States continues to innovate, the Chinese who have often copied us are starting to innovate too, and the Europeans regulate a little too much.” «We reward the human capital that wants to be put into play – highlighted Fontana – and we do it concretely».

The appointments

For the September event, in addition to the actual competition between the start-ups, there will be no shortage of major events in the square open to the public: debates and face-to-face meetings with the protagonists of the world of institutions, culture and Italian and international.
