VARESE – I am over 150 the events that will enliven the Varese summer from June to September. From the center to the neighbourhoods, from the Sacro Monte to the lake, there are opportunities on the program suitable for all ages, with concerts, theatre, open-air cinema, gastronomic offers, visits to discover the artistic beauties of the city, sports, exhibitions and more. To discover all the events on the bill the Municipality of Varese has published a booklet (downloadable from here) which illustrates all the summer events day by day.
The Summer Festival and beyond
«The Varese summer offers hundreds of events, from the center to the Sacro Monte to the neighborhoods – comments the deputy mayor Ivana Perusin – a way to make Varese even more attractive both for those who remain in the city and for the many tourists who are increasingly numerous in the area every year, also thanks to the major sporting and cultural events”. The culture councilor continues Enzo Laforgia: «There are many and varied cultural proposals in Varese from June to September, thanks to a range of initiatives that allow us to enhance and promote some of the most significant places in our city, combining art, music, history, entertainment and beauty. This year too, the culture department supports Ad Management in the creation of the Varese Summer Festivalwith a space also dedicated to city cultural operators”.
From the Sacro Monte to the center
We start in June with the third edition of “Know your Heritage”, an initiative created by the Municipality with visits and itineraries to discover the beauties of the city. As always there are numerous appointments Exterior Night, the open-air cinema festival that animates the Estensi Gardens every summer. Among the new features is the gastronomic event “Itineraries of taste”, to taste local products. Come back “Courtyard Stories”, with music and stories among the courts. In July the fifteenth edition of “Tra Sacro e Sacro Monte”, while at the Giardini Estensi there will be concerts and shows of the Varese Summer Festival. Then the musical reviews from classical to soul up to the event “Music in hidden places” e.g the art from Villa Panza to the Morandini Foundation. On August 15th, an appointment with the traditional one Mountain Festival organized by the Alpini, while “Sant’Ambrogio in strada” returns in September.
