After the excellent debut season, which ended with the elimination in the first round of the national play-offs at the hands of Catania, Atalanta Under 23 is preparing to face the new season with renewed ambitions.
Despite the flattery of several Serie B teams, Francesco Modesto he will remain on the bench of the Bergamo club for next season too. The Goddess recognizes the great work done by the coach last season and has full confidence in him: it cannot be ruled out that a contract renewal could also arrive.
Last year, the Nerazzurri Under 23 team experienced a season of acclimatization to the championship, changing several elements already in the winter transfer window. The insertions of Vlahovic And Come in the current season, promoted by the Primavera, they have demonstrated that even very young elements with no professional experience can be very valid players in raising the quality of the team. This year, in fact, the company could opt for a change towards a similar line, focusing on the most promising talents from the youth sector who did well last year with the Under 19s.
As for the protagonists of last season, especially the 2001 class could be destined for experiences elsewhere. Some will leave Bergamo on loan, others on a permanent basis, to compete in leagues of a higher level than Serie C. There are many elements required in Serie B, but some requests also come from abroad. A natural generational change will therefore take place, the ideal opportunity to launch new prospects and try to shape them with a view to future integration into the first team Gian Piero Gasperini.
