house arrest ordered for a convicted criminal – Itacanotizie.it

In recent days, the policemen of the Mazara del Vallo Police Station have implemented the order for the application of a precautionary measure issued by the Court of Marsala, Office of the Judge for Preliminary Investigations, with which the measure of house arrest was ordered against a 58-year-old citizen of Mazara. The man is seriously suspected of committing the crime of aggravated robbery, committed on May 12th at the “San Vito” Pharmacy in Corso Vittorio Veneto, in Mazara del Vallo.

The episode occurred around 7pm, when a misrepresented person wearing a peaked cap and fleece hood broke into the pharmacy, urging the two shop assistants present to give him the money from the till. A second subject, with a distorted face, had instead remained outside the business, near the door, acting as a pole. The two sales assistants managed to escape into the street and call the single emergency number 112. Since the pharmacy is equipped with automatic checkouts, the two criminals were unable to remove the money and, shortly afterwards, they fled in the direction of Via Santa Maria of Jesus. The police squad intervened promptly on the spot.

The judicial police investigations, immediately started by the investigative section of the Mazarese police station, consisting of the scrupulous and timely acquisition and examination of the video-recorded images from the pharmacy’s video surveillance system, made it possible to identify with absolute certainty the person of a known criminal mazarese, one of the perpetrators of the robbery. The 58-year-old was referred to the Judicial Authority for the crime of aggravated robbery in competition with the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Marsala which, agreeing with the investigative conclusions of the Commissioner, requested the competent investigating judge to take a precautionary measure against him.
