A vast cocaine trafficking between Calabria and Sicily has been discovered and dismantled thanks to the investigations of the Flying Squad of the Catania Police Headquarters. Around 100 police officers are carrying out an order issued by the investigating judge of Catania, at the request of the local anti-mafia district directorate, which provides for personal precautionary measures for 13 suspects. The hypothesized crimes, for various reasons and with different responsibilities, include criminal conspiracy aimed at cocaine trafficking, possession and carrying of firearms and drug dealing. The details of the operation, called ‘Devotion’, will be announced during a press conference to be held at 11am in the meeting room of the Catania Police Headquarters.
