An autopsy will be needed to establish the exact causes of death Daniele Di Marinothe 42-year-old originally from Rome but resident in the Como area, died last Saturday, on the seafront of Bellaria Igea Marina, after an evening spent at Beky Bay with his pregnant partner. The couple was returning to the hotel when the man suddenly collapsed. It was his girlfriend, in shock, who called for help. The 118 paramedics resuscitated her for 50 minutes, but her heart never started beating again. A certainly anomalous death, of a young and healthy person, which came after a few hours she spent moshing to the sound of rock music inside the club on the beach, as her partner said.

Following the information from the Carabinieri of the Bellaria Igea Marina station, the Rimini Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case against unknown persons, as a necessary action, for the death of Di Marino and has arranged for the autopsy to take place tomorrow morning (Wednesday 19 June). The most probable hypothesis is that the 42-year-old was struck down by an illness, but caused by what?
Meanwhile, the Polytechnic University of Marche and the Red Cross of Como, together with friends and relatives, mourn the passing of Di Marino. Professor of Molecular Biology at the Polytechnic University of Marche, he was considered an esteemed professional and a generous man. He divided his time between Como, where he lived with his partner, and Ancona, where he taught. He was involved in cancer research and had obtained important results and recognition for his work.
Di Marino was a volunteer for the Como Local Red Cross Committee and, during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, he went to Bergamo as crew chief on an ambulance, offering his precious help on the front line in the city most affected by the virus at the time. His sudden passing has left an unbridgeable void among his friends, colleagues, students and all who knew and appreciated him. His family members are still in shock and, in particular, his partner who was with him at the time of his death. The woman, eight months pregnant, who immediately felt a slight illness, is unable to find peace over a death that is currently inexplicable.
