Great participation, in the Duomo in Crema, for the concert that concluded the celebrations of Saint Pantaleon. Among the authorities present was the bishop Daniele Gianottithe deputy mayor Cinzia Fontana and the commander of the Carabinieri Company of Crema Giovanni Meriano. At the beginning of the evening, the president of the Cathedral’s Board of Directors spoke, Marcello Palmieriwhich introduced the concert performers: the Polifonica Cavalli (“since 1959 the Cathedral’s intangible heritage, being its official choir“) And the Cremaggiore orchestra (“which represents the most secular musical soul of the city”), united for the first time to mean “this year’s patronal feast has truly united the Municipality and the Diocese in relaunching the memory of Saint Pantaleon”.
Under the direction of the young man Nicola Dolciborn in 1997, the musical formations explored some of the most beautiful works of Bach, Handel, Grieg, Ludovico Grossi, but began the concert with an unscheduled event: the hymn to the patron saint, composed by Francesco Manenti, director of the Horses.
Virtually all the stalls in the Cathedral were full, underlining the interest in an event that has returned after several years of absence. On the other hand, Fontana underlined at the end of the evening, “this year our patronal festival involved truly many subjects under a single direction, a sign of the identity between true religious values and human values”.
For his part, the bishop underlined the chorality that this year marked the organization of the memory of San Pantaleone, hoping that further work in this dimension will be possible in the coming years.
