A “boom” in tourist rentals that worries the union. Mariano Di Gioianew General Secretary of Filcams Cgil of Siena, expresses strong apprehension about the data released by the Municipality regarding the increase in non-hotel accommodation facilities.
“It is necessary to clarify what is meant by extra hotel structure“, says Di Gioia, “to distinguish between structured companies and non-entrepreneurial family-run ones”.
The trade unionist underlines how the uncontrolled growth of tourist rentals does not translate into quality tourism, nor into a fair distribution of resources for workers in the sector. Only those who would benefit from it would be property ownersto the detriment of operators who operate correctly on the market.
