ANCONA – Local nightlife in Ancona sanctioned for continuing to playing loud music well past midnight. The violation caused the intervention of the police and a fine of 1000 euros.
The fact
During the night between Thursday and Friday a police car from Ancona intervened in Corso Garibaldi, following several reports from residents of the neighborhood who complained about very loud music. The venue in question had organized a musical evening, attracting many young people who had dined or had an aperitif. The owner of the venue stated that he had requested an authorization (SCIA) for the event until midnight. However, officers found the music was still playing loudly at quarter past 1am, in breach of the council’s noise regulations. The Administrative and Security staff of the Police Headquarters accused the owner, a man from Ancona aged around 44, for failing to adopt a noise impact assessment plan in the authorization request, as required by the law on noise pollution.
In addition to this episode, it emerged that other residents of the neighborhood had, in the previous weeks, lodged a complaint regarding the loud music emitted from the venue at night, complaining of the inability to rest. Consequently, the report of the administrative violation, which provides for a fine of 1000 euros, was notified to the owner yesterday.
