The commander of the Prato carabinieri company Sergio Turiniwho ended up in prison two weeks ago and then under house arrest on charges such as corruption and unauthorized access to a computer system, he also tried to favor a candidate for the municipal council of Poggibonsi (Siena). In the investigation documents there are conversations with Simona Codevilla of Fratelli d’Italia (who is not under investigation)dating back to May 20th and therefore in the midst of the electoral campaign.

In particular, Turini seems to propose a ploy to the candidate to grab votes with minimal effort, talking about an RSA (the Burresi) in Poggibonsi where he boasted “connections” thanks to the knowledge gained during the period in which he was commander of the company in the center of the Sienese Valdelsa.
“There the patients vote…, then there is the possibility of having… well, a bit of movement.” And then: “You vote, you vote, there are all the right connections (…) with the elderly they are everyone… I tell them what to vote for, everyone votes, they need to bring the holy cards: you bring them to them”, Codevilla says to the soldier. «In short, yes, everything has a price», replies the other. To which she reassures: «You bring them, let me vote and then in the end if I am elected I will pay my fee». The two seem to agree: “Ah ah ah, you’re a treasure.”
The agreement also for the signatures useful for the candidacy
Two weeks earlier, another contact emerges from the documents, followed by a lunch meeting in Monteriggioni: “I need, well I would like to collect some signatures”; says the candidate, employed by the Siena Local Health Authority according to her Facebook profile. “Do you have to call someone from Poggibonsi who can give me some signatures?”. “I know a lot of people, but you know that it’s not easy in the sense that I tell them, oh come and sign for me.” At that point, she insists: “No but there is one – you say a friend of mine – that you give him the signatures for the list but there are few, five or six missing, I also have to call someone from five or six, five or six people when you called for vaccines“. With Codevila also reminding Turini of the period of the pandemic. The conversations were filed in recent days by the prosecutor’s office, together with other minutes and notes.
The commander’s favors to the entrepreneur Matteini Bresci
The alleged pressure exerted by Turini also emerges from the documents on behalf of the Prato entrepreneur Matteini Bresci about a family that owns some shacks close to his company, become the subject of a heated dispute in which there would also have been threats. According to prosecutors, the commander of the Prato carabinieri station had made himself available to the entrepreneur Riccardo Matteini Bresci (under house arrest) and to the head of an investigative agency in Turin, Roberto Moretti, giving confidential information and guaranteeing a privileged lane in relations with the forceall in exchange for some favors such as bottles of wine, a paid trip for his son to the USA, but also pressure from Matteini on the undersecretary Giorgio Silli to keep him at the head of the Prato company, and above all with the aim of expanding the its network of influence
