TRAPANI. With great public participation, representatives of Aiab Sicily, Trapani, the Italian Red Cross, Fidapa and in the presence of the Councilor for Social Services of the Municipality of Trapani Giuseppe Virzì, the project “discovering turrigni” was started, a project wanted by Legambiente Trapani Erice “Nautilus” in partnership with the Ermes association and with the patronage of the Municipality of Trapani.
The idea for this project was born given the growing demand for culture, highlighted among other things by the increase in visitors to cities of art, represents a great challenge for the protection of heritage and makes it necessary to strengthen and differentiate the offer for citizens and visitors to our country, volunteering, with its great human resources and the strong civil passion that characterizes it, can contribute to improving the functioning of museums, libraries, archaeological parks and, more generally, places of interest cultural, environmental and historical. The objective is to activate a process of participation of citizens and tourists in the enjoyment of the historical-cultural and environmental heritage of the city of Trapani, promoting the understanding of cultural heritage as a common good for all citizens. We wish to create periodic events in order to promote these cultural initiatives. As a first appointment, the member Giuseppe Cammarata was involved, passionate about the history of Sicily and in particular the history of Trapani and Erice, “A people has no identity if it has no memory of its own history”, the evening ended on the terrace of the Tower witnessing the sunset between the Egadi Islands, a true spectacle of nature.
