The official announcement of the new Rossoneri coach Paulo Fonseca has arrived. Meanwhile, Milan evaluates the incoming and outgoing situation.
The world of football is currently dealing with Euro 2024, an event held in Germany and featuring some of the most important national teams on the entire planet. In conjunction with this event, the Serie A teams are working on the market and are already working towards next season.
In the last few days – with a surprise press conference – Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced the arrival of Paulo Fonseca as new coach, a particular choice for some and certainly not appreciated by everyone, starting with the fans. Last season was not convincing, the fans want to win again and were expecting a different profile. In the meantime, the club wants to strengthen the squad, aware of some shortcomings that the Rossoneri club currently has.
The priority remains the arrival of one or two reinforcements in attack, the Dutchman Zirkzee is the dream but the commission problem has slowed down the negotiations quite a bit. Good news regarding the first team, Ibrahimovic confirmed the big names en masse, namely Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Rafa Leao. At the same time there will be changes and one of the departments that could have the most changes is undoubtedly the defense.
Milan transfer market, total breakdown: goodbye due to Fonseca
The defensive department will have at least a couple of reinforcements, especially with regards to the central players, but the club would like to change something on the flanks too. On the left wing we need a vice-Theo while on the right the name of Emerson Royal is quite intriguing who could compete for the place (or even something more) with captain Davide Calabria.
With the arrival of a right back, the farewell of Florenzi, now a very experienced name in the Rossoneri team, seems obvious. Florenzi played in Rome with Fonseca and the Portuguese coach himself was among the causes of his transfer to Milan; for this reason it seems unlikely that he will remain with the player who he could say goodbye to during the summer transfer market session.
The relations between Fonseca and Florenzi are not the best and on several occasions – especially in recent times – they have recalled some arguments between the two. Nobody forgets when Florenzi, after his move to PSG, denied his coach (namely Fonseca) via Instagram: Paulo declared that he would have preferred the full-back to remain and Florenzi, in response, declared on Instagram: “Love the truth, but forgive the error”, a phrase by Voltaire that underlines the lie he says his former coach is making.
In short, a relationship that is not simple and which brings Florenzi’s farewell closer. With Fonseca’s announcement the player could therefore soon say goodbye.
