D’Annunzio” Chieti-Pescara.
Walks through the Abruzzi of Ferdinand Gregorovius is part of the “Comete” series. Scie d’Abruzzo” by Ianieri Edizioni edited by Peppe Millanta, writer from Abruzzo. The collection dedicates twelve volumes to travel literature and the itineraries of historians and writers who between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries ventured to discover a wild land such as Abruzzo.
Professor Delli Castelli will discuss it together with Ugo Perolinodirector of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures (G. D’Annunzio University) and will review the Wanderjahre, the pilgrimages that the German historian followed in Abruzzo. The journalist moderates Alessandra Renzetti.
Gregorovius visited Italy in the nineteenth century, in the wake of the Grand Tour and was particularly impressed by it, to the point of remaining there for more than twenty years: among his excursions, the Walks through the Abruzzi testify – with an enthusiastic and critical spirit – an accurate and in-depth study of Abruzzo landscapes, villages and history.
