A prestigious ice gala in Varese with the best Japanese skaters, already protagonists at the recent World Championships in Toronto where they won several gold and silver medals. Together with them, one of the brightest stars of the ice sport, on an Italian but also international level: Carolina Kostner.
Thanks also to the support of Varese Sport Commission for Winter Games, the project promoted by Chamber of Commerce with the Province and Municipality of Varese to enhance our territory in view of the Milan Cortina Olympics, Thursday 15 August will be a dream evening for all figure skating enthusiasts. On ice of the Acinque Ice Arena of Varese, “Japanese Dream – Ice Gala” will take place: a unique show, in which some of the greatest talents in the world will perform, to the delight of the general public.
For the first time in Italy, a show will feature the Japan national team, which will enchant spectators with the performances of very high profile athletes such as Kaori Sakamoto, Mone Chiba, Hana Yoshida, Mai Mihara, Yuma Kagiyama, Sota Yamamoto, Kao Miura, Shun Sato, Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara. To make the evening even more special, the presence of Carolina Kostner and that of the Ghiaccio Spettacolo company of artists.
The event will start at 9pm and will represent the start of a collaboration significant between the Japanese Figure Skating Federation and Varese, chosen as the training base for the Japanese national team in view of the 2026 Olympics.
«Another step forward in our path of synergy with an excellent team like the Japanese one – underlines the president of the Varese Chamber of Commerce, Mauro Vitiello -. The premises laid down during the meeting at the Ville Ponti on 28 February, which was also attended by the Japanese consul, have been transformed into concrete operations in our territory, chosen as a point of reference for the approach to the Olympics. On the evening of mid-August these great champions will offer us an unprecedented show, capable of drawing attention and attractiveness to Varese, an objective that we increasingly want to pursue through sport”.
In turn, the project manager of Varese Sport Commission for Winter Games, Matteo Cesarini reiterates: «We are proud to be able to host the Japanese team in Varese for a first joint training session, from 14 to 17 August. The opportunity to organize a show where numerous of the strongest athletes in the world will be present, together with Carolina Kostner who will skate with them, represents a truly unique moment, to be celebrated together with the city. The mid-August evening will also see the presence of the Ghiaccio Spettacolo company, a reference in the world of ice galas, under the guidance of Andrea Vaturi. All together they will offer us the chance to witness a show of pure magic and talent on the ice. We look forward to seeing you all at the Acinque Ice Arena.”
Concepts on which the mayor of Varese, Davide Galimberti, also intervenes: «Varese confirms itself at the center of the ice sports circuit on a global level, thanks to the presence of an excellent sports facility which constitutes a point of reference for the entire territory. The new ice rink, with the interventions that have made it a cutting-edge structure, is today the venue chosen by the various national teams of the Olympic circuit for their training, by athletes and international competitions of the various disciplines, increasingly consolidating the role of first plan of our city in the process of approaching the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics. A role that has positive effects for the entire territory and which, together with the rowing championships, the new emerging tennis centre, the new temple of basketball and other sports disciplines further consolidates the vocation of Varese as a city of sport.”

The initiative of the Varese Sport Commission for Winter Games, promoted by the Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Municipality of Varese with our Province, promises to be unforgettable and will go beyond the beauty of the performances on the ice.
