The municipal councilors of Brindisi of the 5 Star Movement, Roberto Fusco And Pierpaolo Strippoli, ask that a memorandum of understanding be urgently reached between the Municipality of Brindisi and the Navy of Brindisi so that, at certain hours of the day, the Castello Svevo di Federico II, which hosted the dinner offered by President Mattarella to the leaders of the G7 , will be immediately usable from the first days of next July. Fusco and Strippoli have formulated an urgent motion to the Mayor which will be filed in the next few days.
“There is no time to lose. Having hosted the leaders of the G7, with television coverage and press reports spread throughout the world, gave international visibility to the beautiful Castello Svevo of Brindisi, so – writes the territorial representative Ruggiero Valzano – it is necessary to make this Castle immediately accessible and visitable to all tourists who are visiting Puglia and, in particular, the city of Brindisi, as well as, obviously, to the citizens of Brindisi.

The opportunity cannot be missed to give immediate continuity to the global media visibility that the Castle has acquired, opening its doors and also making it the venue for temporary exhibitions and cultural events, obviously in agreement with the Navy. Even from an economic point of view, any costs of the Municipality to achieve this result during the summer season – concludes the M5S – would be amply repaid by the revenues that the said visit and usability would certainly ensure, as well as by the benefit that all the tourist and commercial operators of the cities would take away from it.”
