2025 World Endurance Championship calendar revealed

The calendar for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season was revealed during the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Friday. The calendar includes eight stages and a contract extension for the Imola circuit in Italy.

The 2025 season begins in Qatar

The 2025 season will begin in Qatar for the second consecutive year, following the successful debut of Qatar 1812KM this year. The Qatar prologue will take place on February 21 and 22, and the first stage of the championship, the 1812KM, will be held on February 28.

Imola renews the contract and will host the championship until 2028

For the second consecutive year, the historic circuit of Imola, in Emilia Romagna, will host a stage of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Imola has signed a contract to host the championship until 2028 and has committed to improving the paddock and garage facilities.

Petro Benvenuti, Director General of Formula Imola, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating: “It is a great achievement to announce here in Le Mans the agreement with LMEM to keep the two races – WEC and ELMS – in Imola for the next four years. The collaboration and respect between Frédéric Lequien, Cédric Vilatte and ourselves have led to this significant result. We received fundamental support from the Municipality of Imola and, in particular, from the mayor Marco Panieri. The WEC is an event of great importance for the circuit and for the region, as demonstrated by the enthusiastic participation of many spectators who come to experience the ‘Spirit of Le Mans’ and enjoy the race in the Emilia-Romagna region.”

The 2025 calendar keeps the stages unchanged

The 2025 calendar remains unchanged from 2024, with the Imola 6-hour race followed by the Spa-Francorchamps 6-hour race on May 10.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place in June 2025

The 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place on 14 and 15 June 2025. After this prestigious event, the FIA World Endurance Championship will continue with the 6-hour race in Sao Paulo on 13 July. The Lone Star Le Mans race will take place at the Circuit of the Americas, Austin, Texas on September 7, followed by the Fuji 6-Hour race on September 28. The season will conclude with the Bahrain 8 Hour Race on November 8th.

The WEC CEO emphasizes the importance of balancing interests

Frédéric Lequien, CEO of the FIA World Endurance Championship, said the 2025 calendar aims to consolidate and create a schedule that satisfies both teams and fans. Despite WEC’s rapid growth, Lequien stressed the importance of being humble and considering budgetary restrictions. By maintaining eight race stages, the WEC seeks to reach a broad audience. With events taking place in five different regions, the championship will continue to pursue this goal.

Imola will host the races until 2028

The WEC is pleased to announce that Imola has committed to hosting racing until at least 2028. The circuit and the city’s mayor, Marco Panieri, have been incredibly supportive. The first WEC race held in Imola this year was a huge success and organizers hope to replicate this achievement in 2025 and subsequent years.

The FIA president praises the growth of the WEC

Mohammed ben Sulayem, President of the FIA, expressed his satisfaction with the growth and popularity of the FIA World Endurance Championship in recent years. As a result, the championship has expanded its calendar, establishing an eight-stage schedule that offers both geographic diversity and world-class circuits. Confirmation of the same calendar for 2025 provides a solid foundation for the WEC’s continued growth.
