“I am pleased to learn the news regarding the clearance of the Silos in Trieste. An act that cannot be postponed. A necessary act of our Municipality of Trieste, made possible by the Government of Giorgia Meloni who will transfer the occupants of the Silos to other places in the country. For some time now, that place has been a repository of waste and the Wild West. With the issuing of the ordinance, in addition to restoring due decorum to a part of the city, we can finally guarantee greater safety and a safe place for those who have the right and requirements to remain on Italian territory.” Thus commented the provincial secretary of the Brothers of Italy, the Hon. Nicole Matteoni.
Claudio Giacomelli, group leader in the Regional Council and member of the National Direction of Fratelli d’Italia, added: “The controversies of the center-left and the ICS are, in fact, the confession of their political intentions. This is because the occupants of the Silos will be transferred to reception centers in other places which, compared to Trieste, have been less affected by immigration. That is, they will be better off than at the Silos. This means that the PD throws away its mask: they don’t care how these people live, they want them to stay in Trieste. They want to expand the reception numbers in the city by creating a new center in Via Flavio Gioia and this is unacceptable for us. For two years we have been challenging the PD to say how many more reception places Trieste should have, without receiving an answer. The PD should say once and for all how many new reception places it would like in Trieste and in which other neighborhoods it would like to place them.”
The entire Trieste council group of Fratelli d’Italia also welcomes the ordinance, commenting: “After a long bureaucratic process, we managed to obtain a great result for the city, which can only be the beginning of a journey aimed at improving the general conditions affecting all citizens, thanks to Mayor Dipiazza and thanks to the Meloni Government”
