Insults on the phone. Fabbri: “Rancorous accusations against me”

“I understand the disappointment of the lawyer Anselmo and his frustration at having been rejected so clearly by the people of Ferrara, but it does not seem serious or even dignified on his part to continue making accusations against me, in such a rancorous way, in an attempt to earn a few more hours in the spotlight and some space in the newspapers. The lawyer uses the same attitude towards me that he used throughout the electoral campaign, and he still doesn’t understand that the citizens don’t like this aggressive and angry way of acting at all. I don’t know, on the merits of his statements, which offenses the lawyer is referring to. And I don’t even understand the references to his partner who I don’t know and who didn’t even participate in the election campaign. What seems clear to me is that the lawyer is trying to use Ilaria’s notoriety Cucchi to get media attention, when he has now lost personal attention.”

Thus the mayor of Ferrara, Alan Fabbri, intervenes on the accusations launched by Fabio Anselmo, in the aftermath of the overwhelming result of the polls which confirmed Fabbri’s reconfirmation as leader of the city with 57.88% of the votes.

“I think it’s time for those who were sensationally defeated in these elections to reflect on the ways but above all on the contents of the opposition they want to build, assuming that a lawyer of such fame really wants to sit on the benches of the city council. If the contents are lacking, as has already been demonstrated in recent months, he should not blame me, looking for a scapegoat, but himself who, perhaps, as an inexperienced person, has underestimated how complex ‘doing politics’ and administering is. But above all, out of respect for the people of Ferrara who have cast their votes a few hours ago and who want, above all, to see our city grow well, stop trying to transform every place into a courtroom. Ferrara right now needs commitment and seriousness from everyone.”
