“Velodrome in the renovation of the “Franco Ossola”? I was amazed”

We receive and publish the letter from a VareseNews reader regarding the “Franco Ossola” stadium issue, after the article published on Wednesday 12 June “The deadline for the projects to renovate the “Franco Ossola” is still postponed. And the velodrome “grain” appears (read here)

Good morning,
I read your article on the stadium issue last night and I was literally stunned.
Beyond the further postponement ordered by the municipality, which I find almost disrespectful towards those who have come forward with a concrete redevelopment project, I am disconcerted by the first amendment which, I understand, would impose the construction of a permanent velodrome.
Are we joking? It seems clear to me that to aspire to at least the B series it is mandatory to have a structure without tracks or anything else.
Forcing the construction of a velodrome inside the stadium would first of all mean scaring away investors and secondly confirming someone’s desire to see Varese sport navigate through mediocrity (as already happened with the renovation of the ice rink which led to a decrease in capacity and non-homologation for international matches).
As a citizen I would like to understand the intentions of our administration because some choices seem truly irrational.
Anyone want a velodrome in Varese? Very good. invest, present a project and build. Maybe around the rugby field given how much space there would be….
At this rate we will find ourselves with our dear but now decadent Franco Ossola.
