Venezia announced that it has raised significant capital from several investors

Venezia FC said it has secured significant investment from new and existing backers.

In addition, a committee has been established that will be responsible for directing the club’s strategies.

Within the latter there are several members who hold company shares.

The Operations Committee

The Committee, also known as OpCo, is composed of eleven members, each holding a majority share of the VFC.

Some of those present have invested personally, while others are part of the group thanks to the financial participation of their family.

Furthermore, the Committee is divided into four sub-committees, which will deal respectively with sport, commercial, venues, finance/operations.

Each subgroup is associated with a president:

  • Rob Hamwee – Senior Advisor di New Mountain Capital
  • Brad Katsuyama – Co-founder and CEO of IEX Group Inc.
  • Duncan Niederauer – President of Venice FC
  • Barney Schauble – Senior Advisor, Nephila Advisors LLC

The other members, however, are:

  • Eileen Aptman – Chief Investment Officer, Belfer Management
  • Darrell Friesen – Former President of Jet Label
  • Cyril Goddeeris – Partner, Goldman Sachs
  • Phillip Hyun – Co-founder and Vice President of Gen. G esports
  • Ron Shurts – Co-founder and CEO of Annexus
  • Eugene Wang – CEO, Regent Holding
  • Jonathan Wheaton – Director of Sandia Holding LLC

The new shareholders

In addition to investments from OpCo members, Venezia FC enthusiastically welcomes new shareholders.

Among the names are APEXa sports investment firm backed by over 100 athletes, Chiron Sports Groupa Swiss asset manager specializing in sports and media and Elliott Hill, a former executive Nike and a board member of several leading consumer brands.

As a result, there will be changes in the company’s board of directors.

For example, Ivan Cordoba, who has been part of the club for the last three years, has asked to step down from the board to facilitate this transition.

New board members will be announced in the coming weeks.

As of today, the name of the Vice President of OpCo is already known: it will be Jamie Reigle, who has extensive experience in senior management positions in international sports organizations.

For example, he was commercial director and board member of Manchester United, EVP Business Operations for the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and CEO of Formula E.
