The political elections, the only “race” where no one ever loses!
If the election were a sporting contest, everyone would have come first!
One really first, one first because looking at the data from a certain point of view he still won, one first because he has a different long-term project, one first because he was the fastest on a specific stretch of road, and so on.
The reality is that you don’t want to admit defeat, so you resort to statistics and, somehow, you always find a piece of data to compare so that the result seems a little less worse than the reality it represents. But “Be careful, statistics is always the third form of lie.” as Jacques Chirac said, who understood politics.
And so we have the 5 stars who compliment the results, even if it is the worst ever. Mayor Salvai who publicly declared that he did not agree with Disabato’s candidacy, but until yesterday participated in the campaign of his Councilor Giulia Proietti who was a candidate on the same list and praised her, inconsistency. The Mayor then does not miss an opportunity trying to undermine political figures of the right, perhaps already fearing the confrontation that will take place in about three years.
But if the 5 stars cry, even the Pinerolo Northern League supporters have nothing to be pleased about, then they turn to their victorious neighbors to appear less defeated.
One who writes clearly on social media is Enrico Delmirani: “We missed him so much…”, true, he was not elected for just a few votes. But he says it clearly!
And this electoral round is also behind us, we wish the winners a good job: elected Mayors and elected Regional Councilors. The non-elected would have no choice but to admit defeat, without many ifs or buts. To return to the French cousins “the vote is clear, it cannot be ignored” (Macron). Even in Piedmont the vote was clear, the Region will be governed solidly by the centre-right, rewarded for the work done in the last 5 years, even if in Pinerolo the mayor Salvai, in a post on Facebook on May 30th, had defined them as ” fascists”, ( we will work against the fascist-led majority political forces (let’s call things by their name, they are called fascists ! (cit. Luca Salvai, mayor of Pinerolo) someone who should remember that with the public role held, he should not insult the institutions.
