A small compensation from UEFA to Spezia for Nagy’s presence at the European Championship

The European Championship in Germany which starts this Friday will yield a small nest egg for Spezia. Thanks to Adam Nagy and of his call-up with Hungary by former La Spezia coach Marco Rossi, who in his Hungarian career has always made Nagy one of the irreplaceable. For the German event, UEFA, the event’s organizing body, has established a budget of 140 million which will be divided among the clubs that lend their players for the European Championship, as a sort of valorisation prize for those who will be the protagonist footballers of this event. ‘summer.

The final quota that will be given to the clubs is calculated in three steps: the number of players present from the same team, the days in which this player will have to stay in Germany and the FIFA category of the club in which he plays, calculated by the FIFA Transfer System (TMS) by 1 July 2024. Although Nagy is not yet officially a Spezia player (he is on loan from Pisa and has not yet been redeemed, ed), the eagle club will still be the beneficiary of a small sum given that the payments will be guaranteed to the teams with which the players are registered during the period of release to the national team.

Based on the above-mentioned criteria, UEFA will calculate at the end of the event the exact daily amount to be distributed to the clubs and therefore also to Spezia for Nagy’s presence. And to do this it will divide the clubs into three categories, with three different compensations for each player. Category 1 will see each player receive 10,000 euros per day, Category 2 will see 6,670 while Category 3 will receive 3,330. Small sums but still useful for the clubs, rewarded for the ‘disturbance’ of seeing one of their players busy away from their team, with all the risks involved.
