The Province of Benevento has warned the concessionaires of the works for the construction of the Naples – Bari High Capacity Railway to restore “to pristine condition” the provincial roads that allow heavy vehicles access to the numerous construction sites open along the Telesina Valley up to the border with Irpinia. This was announced by the president of the provincial administration Nino Lombardi. The initiative was born following numerous reports from private citizens, institutions and provincial councilors, after some inspections carried out by the President himself on the road network and acquired the reports of the technicians of the Infrastructure Sector of the Province. “The Presidency of the Province of Benevento – Lombardi declares – takes note that the heavy mechanical and transport vehicles that operate on the construction sites of the Naples – Bari High Capacity Railway, using the provincial connecting roads, do not seem to adopt all the necessary and due precautions to ensure that the road surfaces are not damaged by their transit and their loads. It has also been noted that part of the waste material from the containers often falls onto the asphalt. It is hardly necessary to underline the seriousness of the situation that is confirmed by numerous users and representatives of the institutions that daily use the provincial network serving the Municipalities of Dugenta, Amorosi, Telese Terme, Castelvenere, Guardia Sanframondi, San Lorenzo Maggiore, Solopaca, Ponte and Apice”.
