Padovani and Zanni say goodbye: “Fano, thanks for everything”

The striker Ettore Padovani, after signing with the newly promoted Civitanovese, greets the Alma Juventus Fano fans after two years in the granata shirt: “We held each other as tight as possible when everything around us was falling to pieces… We given everything we could and we believed in it until the end. I’m sorry for the result, for the fans and for a city that deserves much more! After two years I’m leaving Fano taking with me joy and pain, but above all the warmth of a city that has always united around us. Thank you for everything Fano, may the future reserve for you what you deserve”.

Also greeting Nicola Zanni, who like Padovani will be part of the squad that sporting director Claudio Cicchi is building for coach Alfonsi. The midfielder looks back on three seasons that he will always carry in his heart: “It was August 2021 when I arrived on training camp with Fano, he welcomed me and ‘picked up’ Simone Vitali with the bus, a person who I didn’t even know would soon become a great friend with to share joys and sorrows, not only the warehouse worker but the first Fano fan… Three years together are not easily forgotten. I arrived as a young boy and I left with a wealth of experience that will help me in my future path, I met people who will remain in my heart forever, from managers to coaches and dressing room mates who have become life companions, very few groups like this will be found from the joy of the salvation of the first year to the last second of the play-outs, to the ride made in the second year built from the retreat since mid-July ended in the best way with the victory in the play-offs perhaps seasoned with a hint of regret for not having managed to do something more. We all hoped for a different ending, we wanted to enter the history of Fano by achieving salvation that would have been miraculous, we embraced each other, becoming one until the last second, gritting our teeth, but it wasn’t enough. I thank everyone who was part of these three wonderful years. I leave my heart in Fano.”
