“Tutti Down in the Cellar”, the Wine Culture Festival, is back at the Crea headquarters in Velletri

An intense 3 days dedicated to wine and its excellence, national and international, with its heart in Lazio and an eye on the United States: “Tutti Down in the Cellar” returns, the Velletri Wine Culture Festival, organized by CREA Viticoltura and Oenology and the Idee in Fermento association, which will take place fromFriday 28th to Sunday 30th June in the historic headquarters of the research center in via Cantina Sperimentale, 1. A schedule full of events: talk shows, book presentations, musical performances, scientific walks in the vineyard, but above all tasting stands of over 200 labels, among the best wine productions of the Lazio Region, but also national and international ones, in addition to tastings led by industry experts.

To inaugurate the demonstrationFriday 28 June at 6pm, Giancarlo Righini, Regional Councilor for Agriculture and Budget; the Senator Marco Silvestroni; Andrea RocchiPresident CREA; Massimiliano RaffaCommissioner ARSIAL e Riccardo VelascoCREA Director of Viticulture and Oenology, who will meet again at 8pm in Wine talks to discuss the meaning and prospects of wine, not only from an oenological and economic point of view, but also from a cultural and identity perspective.

Following, at 6.30pmthe special opening event, dedicated to the USA, this year’s guest country of honorItaly – United States: a sip between two worlds. Guided tasting of great American and Italian wines, introduced by Prof. Anthony Tamburri, professor at the City University of New York and president of the John Calandra Institute, a true beacon of Italian-American culture.

During the 3 days of the Festival, equipped with a shoulder strap with glass (included in the tasting ticket), you will be able to taste wines from all Italian regions, but also foreign ones: from “Blind Tasting!”- the ‘blind’ tasting with tastings of 5 of the greatest and most expensive wines in the world, including a wine from Lazio – a “The mystery of Cesanese” dedicated to the best-known native red grape variety of Lazio, passing through the “Prosecco, Italian genius” told by the Prosecco DOC Consortium, up to “Lazio: wines, vines and territories”.

There is also a food area equipped with various gastronomic options (American style barbecue, fried fish in foil, cheese platters, cafeteria and ice cream shop) to intersperse cultural and tasting moments.

As every year, the scientific insights are inevitable: the usual walk in the vineyard with experts and researchers from CREA Viticulture Oenology of Velletri and of theARSIAL (Regional Agency for the development and innovation of agriculture in Lazio), but also the“Plants tell stories”, curiosities and anecdotes from the Experimental cellar of the CREA centre.

Finally, the welcome return of the well-known actor Gianmarco Tognazzi (Saturday 29 June), with his ethyl stories and thoughts.

Entry and use of all the cultural offerings (exhibitions, conferences, round tables) are free.
