Brianza still under the grip of bad weather. After the heavy downpours that hit Monza and the province on the afternoon of Tuesday 11 June, the bad weather did not abandon the area even in the evening and night.

The firefighters of the Monza command have been involved in 20 interventions in the last few hours, especially due to calls for flooding. The municipality most affected by the rain was Agrate Brianza where firefighters also had to intervene to save motorists trapped in the flooded underpasses. The Monza fire brigade command has announced that, at the moment, the situation is under control.

The forecast for today calls for more precipitation. In fact, despite the sunny spells and sunshine this morning, according to the bulletin of the Civil Protection of the Lombardy Region, “scattered showers or residual thunderstorms are expected between the night and the early morning of June 12th, particularly in the central and eastern areas. Between the late morning and afternoon, activation of new showers and thunderstorms, starting from the western and southern areas, extending and spreading towards the North-East between the afternoon and the evening. Locally strong convective phenomena, especially on the plains and in the pre-Alpine areas to ease on the night of Thursday 13 June. Possible local cumulative precipitation in 12 hours between 50 and 80 mm in the evening on the plains and Prealps. Ventilation generally moderate with some reinforcement at altitude, locally strong during the most intense convective events”. .
