Theft and aggravated damage at a commercial establishment in Latina. A foreign citizen arrested red-handed
The Flying Squad police officers arrested, in flagrante delicto, a homeless foreigner who, last night, was responsible for theft from a shop in the city center and for aggravated damage. The man damaged the shop located in Piazza della Libertà, a stone’s throw from the barracks of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Latina.
The officers, having received the report from the operations room, immediately arrived on the scene, finding the man who had broken the window and was trying to escape through the broken glass.
Without hesitation, the policemen blocked him and, despite his attempt to free himself from their grip, arrested him.
The man, already known to the police as he was already allegedly responsible for other incidents of theft, did not maintain a cooperative attitude but rather, as soon as he was brought near the service car, he started hitting the door, damaging the window part.
The particular speed of the policemen’s intervention made it possible to avoid the escape of the person responsible, who was then taken to the Police Offices where, given the lack of documents, he was subjected to photo-tagging for identification procedures.
From the identification checks, the irregularity of his presence on the national territory emerged, as he lacks a residence permit and requests for international protection; Furthermore, there were two expulsion orders against him, one in 2022 and one in 2023.
The man, having completed the ritual formalities, was associated with the security rooms of the Police Headquarters at the disposal of the Judicial Authority and, awaiting the celebration of the immediate ritual scheduled for tomorrow, 12 June, when the judge will also evaluate reference to the advanced request for authorization for the activation of the procedures aimed at the repatriation of the irregular person.
