Alleanza Verdi Sinistra takes 44%

Florence, 11 June 2024 – For the first time, non-resident students were able to participate in the European elections without having to return to their municipality of residence; more than 23 thousand had asked to take advantage of this opportunity to participate, mostly students from Puglia, Sicily, Campania and Calabria. Of these, approximately more than 5 thousand asked to vote for the Tuscany-Umbria-Marche-Lazio constituency.

In Tuscany the outcome of the out-of-office vote is radically different from the national picture: a plebiscite emerges on the left with the Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra which soars to 43.9%, with the Democratic Party in second place with 24.7%.

Third place for the 5 Star Movement with 9.8%, then the Calendians and the Renzians who are much more successful among young people outside the country than among the electorate as a whole: 8% Action and 7.5% United States of Europe. Peace, Earth, Dignity reaches 2.4%, Freedom 0.2%.

And the right? In this particular electoral subgroup it practically disappears: Fratelli d’Italia gets 2.3%, Forza Italia 0.9% and the League even 0.1% with just two votes. Statistical curiosities: one vote each for the Sudtiroler Volkspartei and for Alternativa Popolare, none for Italexit and for the Rassemblement Valdotain.
