His name was Ene Vasilik, he was a young worker of Romanian origins and had lived in Velletri for some time. Last June 5th, in the middle of the night, he was with other colleagues working at a logistics company in Borgo Santa Maria, Latina. The victim, who was not an employee of the Pontine company, worked for the transport company of the truck that hit him.

The Latina Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case against Ene’s colleague, the driver of the heavy vehicle who, according to an initial reconstruction, was carrying out an approach maneuver, in reverse, to the goods loading and unloading point which is located at of the trailer body. Ene was hit in the head perhaps before he could warn his colleague to stop.

The trauma was lethal. In addition to 118, inspectors from the Prevention and Workplace Safety Service of the Prevention Department and the Carabinieri from the Borgo Sabotino station command intervened on site.

A fundraiser has started on social media to help the family cover the costs of repatriating the 38-year-old’s body to Focsani where his relatives want him to find his proper eternal rest.
Many wanted to remember the worker, already a husband and father of a child, and his kindness.
