Countdown to the start of Wimbledon. A few hours before the opening day, one of the possible protagonists withdraws
Monday 1 July, a date to mark in red for all tennis fans. In a few hours, the curtain will rise on the 2024 edition of Wimbledonthe most anticipated tournament of the year, the event that every tennis player would like to win at least once in their career.
Great anticipation, obviously, for ours Jannik Sinner who will play, right at Wimbledon, his first Major as number one in the world, a position that the Italian conquered during the Roland Garros at the expense of Novak Djokovic. The Serbian, who underwent meniscus surgery three weeks ago, managed to recover quickly and will be on the field at the Championships as the second seed in the seeding.
Carlos Alcaraz, however, as the title holder, he is third in the main draw and was drawn in the same part of the draw as Sinner. The two could find themselves against each other again in the semifinals as in the recent match played at Roland Garros and won in five sets by the Iberian.

At Roland Garros, Sinner had faced an opponent in the third round who had put him in difficulty, and not a little, especially in the initial stages of the match. We are referring to the Frenchman Corentin Moutetcapable of snatching a set from the future world number one with a clear 6-2 which had thrilled the crowd at Philippe Chatrier.
After the draw of the draw in which he ended up with De Minaur in the first round, Moutet announced his withdrawal from Wimbledon.
