Cycling, Magagnotti never stops: seventh victory of the season for the Autozai Contri athlete

Seventh victory of the season for Alessio Magagnotti of Autozai Contri, who dominated the individual time trial organized by the ASD GS Cintellese at the Eastgate Park in Fossalta di Portogruaro, completing the 11.5 km in 12’43″97, with an advantage of 8″ 97 on Jacopo Sasso (Team Tiepolo Udine) and 18″35 on his national teammate Andrea Montagner (Borgo Molino Vigna Fiorita). Excellent indications also came from the other three athletes of the Autozai Contri team involved in the test, valid for the awarding of the title of regional champion of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Eleventh place for Cristian Remelli (13’24”58), twelfth Pierluigi Garbi (13’27”72), thirteenth Melsan Idrizi (13’33”42).

«It was a race that I cared about a lot, even if the official nature of my presence was only confirmed a week ago – says Magagnotti -. It was a good test, also to see how my legs worked, because in this first part of the season I didn’t train much on a time trial, with the exception of the last few days. I didn’t have high expectations, I just wanted to get a good result and I succeeded, so I’m very satisfied. The next goal now is to reconfirm myself in the Italian time trial championship.”

«It was a good test, because beyond Alessio’s victory it provided us with excellent indications in view of the Solighetto International next weekend and the Italian Time Trial Championship on June 19th in Grosseto – explains the Autozai sporting director Contri, Fausto Boreggio -. Garbi, Remelli and Idrizi finished just outside the ten, but they too performed admirably considering that they were in their first official time trial and therefore had to gain a minimum level of familiarity with the bike. Alessio had already done some as a student, even with the national team, so he knew how to set up the match, then his talent made the difference. Finally, I would like to say a word for our technician Davide Bastianello, because he is doing an excellent job. I believe that few teams have a trainer who follows the athletes with such attention, professionalism and competence. The results we have obtained so far are confirmation of this, but we are not satisfied. We have the means and the potential to raise the bar even further.”
