PERUGIA – Ninth edition of the City of Perugia tennis internationals scheduled from 9 to 16 June on the red clay courts of the Perugia Tennis Club.

An event that brings high-level champions to the city and also involves students from the city’s primary schools, thanks to the “Tennis in search of an author” contest, in collaboration with the Grifo Agroalimentare Group, sponsor of the event.

The competition, which takes its name from the famous literary work of Luigi Pirandello, invited small artists to give space to their imagination in conceiving and creating drawings and the winner was thus reproduced in the official graphics of the posters, posters and web material of promotion of the ATP Challenger tournament. There were 180 participating students from five primary schools in Perugia and 45 works were created. The works produced are exhibited in a free-entry exhibition at the Galeazzo Alessi Chamber of Commerce Service Center in Perugia, in via Mazzini. The exhibition is open to everyone, on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm, and a nice gadget, the Grifo Agroalimentare Group cow, will be distributed to children who visit it. In addition to the gadget, young visitors will be able to collect their ‘artist pass’ which will entitle them to free access to the tournament for the whole week.

Finally, on Saturday 15 June, the official awards ceremony for the winners of the “Tennis in search of an author” contest will take place, namely the fifth A and fifth B classes of the Giovanni Cena primary school in Perugia. The awards ceremony will take place in the afternoon, immediately after the first match of the day which will start at 4pm, on the central court of the Perugia Tennis Club.

The kids immediately welcomed this initiative, we thought together about what might strike the jury and the students used their creativity, it was teamwork.”
