The video of “ is onlineAssabenerica”, the new song by the singer-songwriter Patrizia Laquidaraavailable digitally and currently in radio rotation.

Videodirected by director Marco Dodisi, with the screenplay by Davide De Stefano and Patrizia Laquidara, it was filmed in Messina and includes archive scenes of the ancient “la Vara” procession and unpublished scenes. All of this both in symbolic places of the Sicilian city and in others of emotional value for the artist.

With this video clip, Patrizia Laquidara once again wanted to recreate and represent, with landscapes and sounds, the imagery linked to her novel “I saw you yesterday” (ed. Neri Pozza). The first scene opens on the paternal grandparents’ house which appears in the book with the name “The shack with the eel” and ends on the shore of the Strait, with the desire to enhance one of the most important scenarios in Italy in terms of ecological value , cultural and mythological.

«“Assabenerica” – says Patrizia Laquidara – is a musical exorcism, a song with a rhythmic and rhymed progression that recalls the post-modern spoken word style. The pop poster of an ancient procession, La Vara, which is celebrated on August 15th in the city of Messina. A rite that involves thousands of devotees busy holding the majestic votive chariot on their shoulders, which is a grandiose epic and triumphal machine. An archaic, profane and Marian ritual at the same time, symbol of the many popular processions, true cultural phenomena, still present in our country”.

The song, recorded and mixed in Lisbon and produced by Ponderosa Music Records, features the collaboration of Lorenzo Maragoniworld champion of poetry slam (a competition in which poets recite their verses), and of the musician-composer Tony I sing.

The pop poster of an ancient procession, La Vara, which is celebrated on August 15th in the city of Messina. A rite that involves thousands of devotees busy holding the majestic votive chariot on their shoulders, which is a grandiose epic and triumphal machine. An archaic, profane and Marian ritual at the same time, symbol of the many popular processions, true cultural phenomena, still present in our country.”
