Summer is coming and in Riva del Garda Palazzo Martini (Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7.30pm) and the Conventino (from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7.30pm) reopen for public visits. In both cases entry is free.
During the summer, the Alto Garda Museum, as part of the «The museum in the city» cycle, offers a monthly guided tour of the Conventino (as the former convent of the Inviolata is called by the people of Rivani). The appointment is on the Sundays of 14 July, 11 August and 8 September, always starting at 10.30 am (the meeting point is at the Museum in Rocca).

Martini Palace
The building is one of the examples of valuable historical architecture in the historic center of Riva del Garda. Worthy of note is the large double-height central room, a hall with a gallery now used for ceremonies, events and meetings. It originally housed a small theatre. The ceilings of the halls feature frescoes from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, while the walls of the rooms have been enriched with precious period prints belonging to the Magister’s collection. Curiosity: in one of the rooms the piano that belonged to Professor Lino Righi is preserved, illustrious figure in the city’s cultural life, donated by Professor Franco Ballardini, professor at the Bonporti Conservatory, after a delicate restoration.

Former convent of the Inviolata
The Inviolata convent was built at the behest of the Madruzzo family between 1615 and 1616 next to the church of the same name to house the Girolamini friars, who were entrusted with the care of the sanctuary. The convent was inhabited for centuries first by the Gerolamini friars, then by the Franciscans. In 1870 it was purchased by the Municipality of Riva del Garda and used as a public school for girls, only to be abandoned in 1964. Thanks to a restoration started in 2010 and concluded in 2023 it is now possible to visit the cloister of the convent. The structure is of particular value and is divided into three buildings with a central cloister. On the walls of the quadrangular porticoed cloister it is still possible to observe 19 lunettes frescoed with scenes depicting episodes from the life of San Girolamo created in 1675 by Giovanni Antonio Italiani.
