Budget change, the Municipality of Orbetello invests over 300 thousand euros for education, social and association activities. “The municipal administration of Orbetello – recalls the mayor Andrea Casamenti – during the last council meeting approved a budget change which provides for over 300 thousand euros of investments for the sectors of public education, social and associative and cultural activities”. The mayor explains that “90 thousand euros have been allocated for contributions to sports associations and for initiatives and events to promote sports. Such as national tournaments and events in Orbetello”. Then it’s the turn of “Aid for Families”, especially single-income families with 45 thousand euros earmarked for rent integration. “An important item – says the mayor – because it allows us to help many single-income families who struggle to make ends meet.”
Furthermore, 60 thousand euros are intended for interventions and works to improve urban decor, such as new benches, landscaping, cleaning of some sections of the Spanish walls. For the health emergency and emergency sector, the municipal council has budgeted 10 thousand euros, as an extraordinary contribution for the purchase of a new ambulance for the 118 service in Orbetello, which will thus be strengthened and equipped with a modern mobile center of resuscitation. Then 30 thousand euros were allocated to the purchase of a new floating module for the pier in Santa Liberata, in the navigable canal, which leads from the sea to the western lagoon. Pier – explains Casamenti – which will be extended in the new module, with more berths available for boat owners”.
Instead, 16 thousand euros were allocated to the purchase of new lockers for the nursery and primary schools under the Municipality’s responsibility, and 15 thousand euros for contributions to schools under its responsibility. Finally, 48 thousand euros were allocated to the expansion of summer school services, which are very useful for families who have young children who are both parents at work.
