The exhibition promoted by the Department of Culture “Commedia dell’Arte” was inaugurated this morning at the Torre Aidiante of the Carlo V Castle. The exhibition collects a physical representation of the project ideas relating to the competition “The mask of the city” which the Department had announced a few months ago and which saw a large participation, in particular from the school world.
“The idea of holding a competition to create an official city mask allowed us to experience an increased sense of social unity and sense of belonging to the community. We had great participation and the participation of the inmates of the prison who wanted to leave a sign of their creativity and imagination by retracing the history of the city is also particularly appreciable” declares councilor Nicola Corigliano who was present at the exhibition today with many of the participants to the ideas competition.
Also present were Professor Cecilia Trocino and the director of the archaeological museum of Capo Colonna Gregorio Aversa, members of the competition evaluation commission. “We are particularly pleased to have involved students, teachers and citizens in a journey of creativity. The competition awarded one mask, Teorema, which will be the official mask of the city of Crotone, but all are worthy of appreciation and the exhibition aims to be a way of bringing the creativity of the participants to the attention of visitors. I also thank the associations that manage the Carlo V Castle for setting up the exhibition which the beauty of the Helping Tower makes even more evocative” concludes councilor Corigliano.
The exhibition will be open to the public until June 23rd with the following visiting hours:
- Tuesday: from 9.30 to 12.30
- Thursday: from 9.30 to 12.30
- Friday: from 9.30 to 12.30
- Saturday: from 9.30 to 12.30
- Sunday: from 9.30 to 12.30 and from 16.00 to 19.00
