The second annual event was presented during an evening event that took place in the renovated spaces of the Casa delle Culture in Cosenza “Calabria in Fabula”, the traveling theater project signed by Theater in Notes with the artistic direction of True Secrets and the organizational one of Pier Luigi Sposatocreated in partnership with Vertical Scene And ActorInCorsowho will return from June 15th to July 14th crossing five cities of the five Calabrian provinces.
A project that for 2024 offers an even richer program of events and guest artists: well 30 appointments scheduled in 5 host cities – Pizzo (VV), Corigliano Rossano (CS), Curinga (CZ), Santa Severina (KR) and Palmi (RC) – between theatrical performances, meeting moments and masterclasses, which will feature big names of contemporary Italian theater and well-established Calabrian companies, but also small entities created to contribute to the promotion of theatrical culture in the area.
From the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Ionian Sea, from coasts with crystal clear waters to hilly landscapes, passing through villages rich in history, Calabria in Fabula For its second year, it will also cross places that have been crossroads of myths, legends and civilizations with a thousand-year history, bringing to the stage stories that will also address highly current themes, including award-winning shows and new productions.
«Our journey through the lands and stories of Calabria begins again – declared the artistic director True Secrets –. An even more intense and rich second year of events, which will host artists of the caliber of Milvia Marigliano, Saverio La Ruina, Ulderico Pesce. Last year we proposed shows that allowed us to rediscover the charm of the theater through the magic of the story, the fairy tale. This year, however, we decided to focus on a theater that could not only tell stories, but also inspire, educate and motivate, reminding us that every action counts and that everyone can make a difference. A theater of civil commitment, which will give space to the voices of many women and open reflections on current issues such as the environment, gender identity, work, patriarchy. The absolute protagonist will once again be the cultural heritage of the South, with its stories, its places and its thousand faces.”
The project is co-financed by the PSC Development and Cohesion Plan 6.02.02 provided as a result of the “Special Projects for the development of theatrical activity” notice of the Calabria Region – Department of Education, Training and Equal Opportunities – Culture Sector, 2nd year.
