Big news for the roads of Latina, where the Municipality has ordered the construction of 7 raised pedestrian crossings and 3 new speed reducers in different areas of the city.
Near the raised pedestrian crossings and the speed bumps, the limit of thirty kilometers per hour.
7 new raised pedestrian crossings in Latina
Specifically, the 7 raised pedestrian crossings will be built:
2 in viale Pier Luigi da Palestrinaat the intersections with Via Geminiani and Largo Cavalli, replacing pre-existing crossings;
3 in avenue to Le Corbusierof which
– one near the intersection with via Bruxelles, five meters before the existing passage,
– another at number 393, replacing the existing passage,
– the third at the entrance to the parking area, again replacing the existing passage;
1 in via San Francescoat number 71 near the entrance to the “Il Marsupio” nursery school;
1 in via della Stazioneat the intersection with via Socrate, twenty meters before the existing passage.
3 new speed deterrents
As regards the 3 speed deterrents planned, these will be positioned:
– one in via Giulianibefore entering the school,
– the second in via San Francescobefore and after entering the nursery,
– the third in via Monti Appenniniat number 18, before and after the entrance to the present commercial activity.
The ordinance, which delegates to the Maintenance department the construction of the artefacts and the installation of horizontal and vertical signs for the regulation of the traffic concerned, finally also provides for the construction of comb-shaped parking stalls in via Santa Maria-via Acciarella.
Administration of Latina: safer roads
The traffic plan councilor Gianluca Di Cocco explained:
“The measure is aimed at ensuring the safety of pedestrians and in particular vulnerable road users, children, elderly people and people with disabilities.
It is a response to numerous reports of conditions of risk to public safety received by the offices and verified by them through timely inspections.
The requests received by the organization are many and it is the desire of the mayor Matilde Celentano to give answers to everyone and in the shortest time possible”.
